The manuals are coming | 2027 Porsche carrera S Manual for us only
The manuals are coming, the manuals are coming! Well “the Carrera S Manual” to be specific. Porsche is bringing a manual variant of the 911 Carrera S only to the US! It is nice to see a company, especially with an international presence, listening to demand and spending the effort to create a model specifically for a foreign country. It’s important to take the time to recognize events like this in the automotive space because this is what we were talking about when we cried “Save The Manuals!”
The powertrain setup on the Carrera S MT Package takes it’s inspiration from the Carrera T’s 388 hp 3.0L Twin Turbo flat-six engine and mates it to the 473hp variant of the same motor on the Carrera S. To add to the enthusiast nature of the Carrera S Manual, it will only be available in the C2S variant - that’s Porsche speak for rear wheel drive only.
The Carrera S MT is not much heavier either with only an 11 pound gain over the Carrera T. The new package also comes with a plethora of standard equipment above the standard Carrera S like: Center lock wheels, titanium exhaust, Sport Design front fascia, and four way adjustable Sport Seats Plus. As far as mechanical features, it comes standard with: PASM Sport suspension, rear wheel steer, and the Sport Chrono pack.
Everybody get your defibrillators out, we are going to talk prices. The PDK Carrera S starts at a feverish $158,550, if you want a walnut topped stick in your center console, the price escalates quickly to $169,450, and a $183,350 if you want to feel the blazing sun on your dome!
Though 911’s are getting pricey these days, this is still a great move by Porsche to continue making new cars with manuals, at the lower and less exclusive tiers of their product lineup. After all, not all us mortals can get an allocation for a GT3, and this is one step closer to a Porsche more people can experience!
